OUR HISTORY

  • TASCO started in Fred Thompson Senior’s garage with an 18 ton press and an air compressor. It first started supplying stampings to Fruhauf Trailers.

  • Shortly after its’ founding, TASCO moved from the family garage to Bellville, OH. During the CB craze of the 70’s, TASCO was assembling orders for Antenna Specialist of Cleveland. The business grew so much that two additions had to be added to the building to house all the workers.

  • In the early 1980’s, the nearby GM plant got rid of all small stampings. TASCO took this opportunity to grow exponentially. The business went from one shift and 28 people to 3 shifts and over 100 people almost overnight. With this growth came it’s own set of problems.

  • After the growth from the GM stampings, TASCO was able to purchase Martin Steel - a grain silo fabricator in Mansfield, OH. Soon new product lines for electrical enclosures were added.

  • Fritz Thompson took over the business in 1997 and primarily focused on the automotive sector. With the help of his brothers, and children, TASCO continues to grow and expand into new industries - each with their own rewards and challenges.

We have been through numerous growth stages. Every stage has brought its own unique set of problems. Through these issues we continue to learn and grow and adapt.
— Fritz Thompson, Current TASCO President
